Project Overview

AgroScan is an AI-powered plant disease diagnosis platform designed to help farmers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals quickly identify diseases, pests, and health issues affecting their crops. By leveraging machine learning models trained on thousands of plant images, the platform delivers fast and accurate diagnoses — turning what once required an expert field visit into an instant cloud-based analysis.

The frontend was built in React, creating a smooth and responsive single-page application that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices. The interface was designed to be simple enough for non-technical farmers while powerful enough for professional agronomists managing large-scale operations.

The Challenge

Farmers and agronomists traditionally rely on expensive expert consultations or manual identification guides to diagnose plant diseases — a slow, costly, and often inaccurate process. AgroScan needed a frontend that made AI-powered diagnosis feel accessible and trustworthy to a non-technical agricultural audience, while being fast, cloud-connected, and reliable in regions with varying internet connectivity.

The Solution

Built a React single-page application with a clean, agriculture-focused UI that guides users through the diagnosis flow: upload or capture a plant image, submit for AI analysis, and receive a detailed diagnosis with disease name, severity, and recommended treatment. Integrated with a cloud-hosted AI/ML backend via REST API, with optimistic UI updates and loading states to keep the experience smooth even on slower connections.

The Result

Delivered a polished, production-ready React web app that makes AI plant disease diagnosis accessible to farmers without technical expertise. The intuitive upload-and-diagnose flow reduces the time to identify a crop disease from days (waiting for an expert) to seconds, supporting better crop management decisions and reduced agricultural losses.
